True, she’s had a couple of shining moments, but those have been so few and far between whereas Chris has been consistent week after week. So he sounds the same every week, he still has a constantly great voice. When Kat hits the notes right and picks the songs that suit her singing style she shines, but with the notable exception of two performances, she has been off key and inconsistent. GRRRRRRRRRRRRR! Elliot keeps getting better and better and I say good for him! He keeps looking better and better too. LOL! He is actually Emily’s favorite performer – yes my 4 year old listens with rapt attention to AI on Tuesdays. Taylor is a good entertainer and a great singer when he’s not trying to sing and hop around at the same time, but he’s not AI material. He’s more Joe Cocker than Joe Nichols.
On the bright side...Chris can now make the kind of rocker music that he wants to instead of the pop junk they would try to wrangle him into doing had he actually won.
Now that Chris has been booted (America, what have you done?), my money’s on Elliot – if I were a gambling person. Kat has GOT to go next. I don’t know if my ears can stand anymore of her off-key singing. Kat is NO Kelly Clarkson, heck she’s not even Dianna DeGarmo.
Ok, now on to this week’s Thankful Thursday.
~1 Thessalonians 5:18~ Give thanks to God in all circumstances (no matter what they may be), for this is God's will for you (who are) in Christ Jesus.
A best friend who gets up early to pick Emily and me up from home to take Em to school and me to work b/c the stinkin’ dealership STILL has my car and hasn’t even looked at it yet even though they’ve had it for 3 days already. Friends like MC are that rare and beautiful diamond at the pinnacle of friendship! Big, warm hugs that are comforting and just wonderful to sink in to. The delight in Emily’s voice every day that she comes home and sees me and runs and literally throws herself into my arms for a hug. Being appreciated for who I am. That means the world to me. The ability to laugh with someone else. Laughter lightens the spirit and the heart when they’re heavy. The trust in God’s promises that He will never leave nor forsake me and that He will always be there beside me, providing for me, even though I can’t see my way clear to the other side sometimes. I may not understand, but knowing that He does is enough. Nic,
Among many other things I'm thankful for is that I never watch American Idol and thus couldn't care less who goes or stays. But then, you probably don't care much about golf, do you? To each his own form of recreation and entertainment, I guess!
John
hey girl. just checking in.
we don't have regular tv (just angel net) so i haven't been able to keep up with american idol. but from what little clips i saw, that was a pretty big surprise and blow.
many blessings to you as we head into the weekend!

Hi! I love following the American Idol show and am rooting 100% for Elliot :-)
I too am thankful that I can trust in an unchanging Father, and that I can ask him each day to increase this faith to get me through trying times.
My thankfuls are up as well :-)
Nic, Michele sent me. I was also surprised to see Chris go, but I don't agree with you about Kat. She has a great voice when she is allowed to sing the music she likes.
I've long contended that this whole viewer-vote thing is a sham. Mass audiences are no more able to pick talent than they can play along at Family Feud. The collective intelligence of our population is, sadly, lacking.
There's real talent to be had outside the confines of this so-called "reality" show. I'm sorry that this one venue seems to have hijacked everyone's attention.
