Psalm 121. What an amazing chapter in the Bible. It has been rolling around in my head this week for some reason. I think it has to do with all the stresses in my life. We're going through FPU – for those of you in who aren't "down" with the lingo, it's Financial Peace University. This will be our third week . . . the week of the dreaded "B" word. BUDGET! Going through the quickie budget of the first week made me realize that we are breaking about even regarding income and outflow. Some months we may be a little under, some months we may be a little over in regard to the numbers.
One of the things that Dave Ramsey frequently says is that for women, money represents security, and it's true. If I have money in the bank, I feel I have more room to breathe than if I don't.
But my view is wrong. My security shouldn't come from whether or not I have money in the bank for emergencies (like the brakes in my truck which I think are about to go out, but I'm not 100% about yet). It should come from God, our Provider. When Oscar was out of a job for almost 8 months, I trusted in God and leaned on His provisions like never before, and you know what? We always had money to make it through the month. God always provided.
God is my security. He has promised in this chapter that He is my help. He does not sleep so He always knows what is going on. He will not let any harm come to me. He MADE the heaven and earth and He is watching over me!

Oh what a lovely post. I love this passage. There is a song about it can't remember who sings it. I went and read your comment on my Sat. post. thank you so much! It really helps. I do think God speaks to us in ways we can hear. And for me right now it is through my sisters support and encouragement. We are praying about Apartment Life ministry an waiting on the approval. I pray that it is God's will and it works out. Thanks again for your prayers and support. I am Blessed.

BTW where in Texas?
What a great word and so packed with TRUTH.
I need to get with the plan too.
God is teaching us all about what it means to truly trust in HIM.
Have a blessed day♥
Isn't that so true? He wants us to rely on Him and only Him. He will do whatever He needs to do for us to learn this and I am slow student. I love our God for His grace!
Beautiful photo!

Nic...this is just SPOT on! You know I often think of these prayers of ascent...praying like this, by the time you reached the top there may some room for clarity.
God does provide and yet we've been so conditioned to depend on our own definitions of security...SOOO good! SOOO true!
peace!

So true! Thanks for your WFW!
Much truth spoken here, bless you.
Sometimes I wonder -- which is easier, to live in the USA, where work can be had at least easier than in the Philippines, and food is only a fraction of income? Or in the Philippines, where money is scarce, work is scarcer, and food takes up almost all of the average family's income, BUT the scarcity is more 'uniform' throughout and making do is a way of life for the general population? And then I get to thinking, God is the same everywhere, and all the time. I can so relate with your post, and most especially with the verse. God has proven Himself true time and again. Indeed our help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth.
